Welcome! I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, child and Deaf special population specialist, and an approved Clinical Supervisor. I offer psychotherapy to women, men, families, children and adolescents. Respecting and using therapeutic approaches from a variety of perspectives, I am primarily informed by EMDR therapy (For more info, see http://www.emdria.org/?2).
My training covers a broad range of areas but I concentrate on the following categories: domestic violence, sexual abuse, t rauma, anxiety, depression, distress, shame, self-esteem, life transitions, addictions, grief & loss and spirituality & faith.
I have been working as a counselor for 15 plus years. These years have given me a lot of experience working with trauma survivors, particularly of domestic violence and sexual abuse.
I believe that it takes a lot of courage for a person to decide to go and see a counselor. The whole counseling process has a lot to do with the relationship that develops between the counselor and the client.
I am fluent in American Sign Language and I am very active and involved in the Deaf and DeafBlind community, both socially and through volunteer activities.
I believe counseling should offer a safe, non-judgmental opportunity to explore and discover a path to your own place of peace. The goal is wholeness.
Give me a call. We can talk and see if I would be a good fit for your counseling therapy needs.
